Begin with the design
Consider the role of the stone before choosing a size: a small accent, a repeated detail or the focus of a setting. Use the product photographs to explore appearance, then read the written specification for the details that determine your selection.
- Stone and description: read the named material and any information supplied about treatment, origin or supporting documentation.
- Shape and cut: compare the listed form with the setting or design you have in mind.
- Dimensions: check which measurements are given and whether they are approximate.
- Quantity: confirm whether the price is for one stone or a stated pack.
Look closely at the details
Colour can appear differently under changing light and on different screens. Where a project depends on a close colour match, a particular depth or a precise fit, ask about the relevant details before ordering. A photograph alone does not establish provenance, treatment or compatibility with a setting.
Our free Read Product Specifications module offers a method for recording and comparing the information supplied. Keep a short brief for your project so you can compare candidate stones consistently.
